Hi, my name is Alana Whitley, and I am a graduate student at Old Dominion University in the Lifespan and Digital Communication program found myself studying this field through my desire to work with social media, brands, and potentially other forms of production. I love the concept of attempting to sell a product to consumers and helping brands better understand consumers. I am currently the Communication Coordinator for Student Engagement and Enrollment Services, where I help run the @ODUSEES social media platforms and assist with campus events. Following graduation, I aspire to work either in Sports Communications doing public relations for a NBA or NFL team. Or working in publishing due to my love of books. I also would not mind a career as a professors since I love learning and engaging with others on interesting topics and themes. 

I recently graduated from Old Dominion University with my degree in Communications with a concentration in public relations, persuasion, and persuasion and a minor in marketing. I adored my years at ODU and wanted to return to pursue my Masters' Degree a few months following the completion of my undergraduate degree.

 

I am a very family and friend-oriented individual and enjoy spending quality time with those I love. I enjoy taking walks, playing with my dog, and playing the SIMS 4. Over the last year, I got invested in record collecting and own a total of seventy albums since beginning this hobby. In my spare time, I love exploring Norfolk and finding new record stores to help build my collection. I enjoy baking and cooking, I find both to be therapeutic and there is always a delicious result. Lastly, I love reading and spending my free time immersing myself in new worlds with intriguing characters!
