My website is years old at this moment, but the part I have always hated editing was the resume page. It is the part I change most often and it is never enjoyable to complete. For starters, I have to update both the website resume and the PDF resume, making it extremely tedious. Additionally, the website resume requires me to completely fix the structure of the page and adjust the header, where the information goes, and the links. The easiest part of my website was probably the ‘about me’ section. It is the only part of my site where I could put what I wanted and did not require anything of me. It is why it is probably my favorite aspect of the site as I got to express all the joys and things that I have done.
I love my website, I have always loved it and enjoy sharing it with others. If I had to change one thing about it, I would make it formatted to match my future career. Unfortunately, I do not have a dream job or an idea of what I want to do specifically, so I can not change that yet. But, I hope when the day comes and I have a job I love and want to have depicted on my site.
While I butted heads with him often, my old manager at Abercrombie and Fitch amazed me with how he handled a situation most would of given up on. In July of 2021, our store closed down for good and we were given the task to pack up the store. Unfortunately, the mall confused the last day we were opened with the last day we would be in store and cut the power. Without power, we could not work and get the store cleaned out. My manager, Lucas, was fast and immediately called someone to get it resolved, but no luck on getting power restored. He sent us home, but made it firm to return the next day. Following day, still no power, but Lucas had a plan. He told us to do everything manually, bought flashlights and candles, put each of us in a designated corner to prevent running into anything, and brought notepads to write the information the devices would have saved for us. What amazed me most about Lucas was his determination. He easily could had given up or kept trying to get the power restored, but he maintained his original focus of packing the store in three days. His fast thinking was also admirably. He was on top of everything the moment the power was cut and had a solution to the issue almost immediately.
In the summer of 2018, I went to New York to see the firework show for the fourth of July. It was my second time in the city and my first time seeing the show in person, so I was excited. My mom and I arrived early to ensure a good spot as we were told first come, first serve multiple times. Between the time we arrived and the time the show started, it was a trainwreck. I am guessing Macy’s underestimated how many people were arriving this year as they kept enforcing and pushing everyone away from their desired areas The cops who were working were extremely rude, did not share any information and consistently threatened the bystanders for not moving. For two hours, they kept pushing and forcing hundreds of people all at once to move to accommodate an issue that was not our faults. It was extremely chaotic and scary at times. The show was beautiful, but the staff could have done a better job maintaining the extra crowd. An overflow lot should of been an option since the bridge was clearly out of space. Additionally, the cops should not had been forceful, particularly with the crowd consisting primarily of families with small children. Instead, they could of made an announcement and informed everyone with what was happening and I am sure, people would of adjusted accordingly.
I do not have any questions at this time regarding the eP.
